Technical Requirements In order to view an AIMU course, you will need Microsoft Windows Media Player (Version 9) and your computer must have at least 64 megabytes of RAM. Microsoft Windows based systems must have a 100 MHz Intel Pentium or faster processor (or its equivalent). Apple OS based systems must have a 200 MHz Motorola 604 or faster processor. In addition, you will need Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later. Please note: Netscape Navigator is not fully supported by Windows Media Player and you may experience problems while using it. A FREE copy of the latest versions of Microsoft Windows Media Player is available for download from Microsoft Corporation at: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/download/default.asp (Microsoft Windows Media Player, version 9) In addition, you will need to download the free animation add-in tool for Microsoft PowerPoint, unless the most recent version of PowerPoint is installed on your computer This tool is available for FREE at: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=4033a84a-24c7-40b2-8783-d80ada33cff8&displaylang=en (PowerPoint 2002 Add-in: Office Animation Runtime) Choosing a Viewing Speed The AIMU courses are broadcast in two speeds: low speed (dial-up) and high speed (broadband); however, for optimum viewing capabilities AIMU highly recommends viewing the courses using a broadband connection. 56k Modem - Low Speed - Dial Up: If your modem has a maximum speed of 56k or an ISDN connection, please select the low speed (dial-up) broadcast option. The presentation picture size will be smaller and the resolution may be slightly reduced, but due to the limitations of the dial-up connection to the Internet it is the best option for this speed. After you have selected this option, please allow the course to fully load. This process may take up to 4 minutes. For troubleshooting or connection problems, please read the FAQ's. High Speed - Broadband: Please select this option if you have a Cable Modem or high speed DSL, are on a computer network with a fast connection at work or have access to any other form of broadband connection. |
